Our curriculum
The curriculum framework is based on the ALTIS philosophy of education, designed for
independent study, family focus, and at-home learning, providing both freedom of choice and
instructional guidance. The core subjects provide a foundation for 21st-century learning skills
and academic content for international instruction and evaluation.
ALTIS curriculum blends the academic standards from the Tennessee Department of
Education and Common Core with NCPSA, ISEI, and MSA-CESS standards and allows families
to enrich the ALTIS curriculum with extra courses/electives of their choice. The Bible standards
cover general Christian values, Bible stories, Christian history, or comparative study of religions.
Teaching and learning combine printed or electronic materials, hybrid learning, live classes, and on-site final evaluation. The school schedule includes both synchronous (mentorship)
and asynchronous (self-paced) classes, with flexibility throughout the school year.
ALTIS core subjects span across levels and areas of instruction, structured to meet students’ age-appropriate needs:
PreK (4/5 years old)
Areas of Development:
• Social & emotional development
• Language & communication development
• Cognitive development (learning, thinking, problem-solving)

PSAT 8/9 Standardized Testing
ALTIS students are encouraged to understand evaluation/ assessment as an integral part of learning. During the enrollment process, they will receive an Assessment Handbook that will present a broader picture of the instruments, platforms, materials, and principles for evaluation.
The assessment is based on academic standards, not on specific educational material. ALTIS guides in choosing textbooks or educational platforms and offers several examples of valuable
sources, but it is the family that ultimately selects the material to be used, according to the student’s specific needs and learning styles. Mentors are available to help in making decisions if necessary. Altis grants free access to the IXL platform for their students, the account expenses being covered by the school.
Starting from 9th grade and throughout high school, Altis students will take the SAT Suite standardized examinations. The fees for the exams will be covered by the family.
